Before beginning my research, I made sure I had a thorough understanding of how mobile wallets function (including the backend), how money travels from one location to another, how APIs are used and handled, as well as all other necessary knowledge. I achieved this by reading a ton of articles about mobile banking, their benefits and drawbacks, and the difficulties they frequently encounter. I now have a thorough understanding of the Fintech sector thanks to this.
- What do I need to understand about mobile wallets and mobile banks?
- What do I need to know about its users?
- How will this knowledge influence my design process?
- What are the emotions that people experience around the problem my product is trying to solve?
- How often will my target audience use the product?
- What will users see as the primary function of this product?
I want to understand users’ needs as they relate to my product.
For folks who enjoy keeping their money in wallets, this product will work best. Those who have multiple wallets and prefer to keep everything in its proper place in order to improve organization would then benefit secondary from it.
I was able to sketch out some of my remedies to some of the issues by taking the time to comprehend my users. This section taught me a lot because it stimulated my imagination and helped me comprehend the variations among users. I employed a design sprint during the design phase, which improved the efficiency of the procedure.
The structure of the app made it possible for users to easily send money (either to your own bank or an external account) by just few clicks.
I also included another method of send money which is by sending to your linked bank on blink.
I added two options where one can receive funds into the wallet.
- A formal method which is just by copying the account number and sending it out.
- The other method i added is the invoice method. I added this because some users makes use of invoice for fund reception and with the product, they can easily create and send out their invoice.
This feature allows the user to link and existing bank account to his/her wallet. This process also takes few clicks and for a better security, It should take some days before the bank can be linked after all the identity of the user has been verified.
The "All" and the "Unread" notification screens were combined into one category. The personalities indicate that both of these people struggle to maintain their organization, and I was able to address this issue in the notification page by grouping the notifications.
The transaction screen is very comprehensive and straight to the task. It’s also coupled with downloading a particular transaction (as a PDF or CSV) to stay more organized.
The settings section is where the user can control the performance of app and their linked banks. The user can;
I'm relieved that everything went smoothly and that I was able to accomplish the majority of the project's objectives. This project has made me more aware of how the majority of FinTechs function and how the backend engineers manage the flow of funds. This project also has a positive impact on me and my other team member; Yusuf Oladipo who helped with the contents.
